Founder & Chairman

Memduh Yıldırım

INCOM, est. 1980 · Mersin, Turkey

He started INCOM in Mersin in 1980, when carob processing in Turkey was still a scattered, small-scale trade with no dedicated producers. He built the country's first company around Locust Bean Gum on its own.

Four decades later, that's an export business in more than 50 countries. He's still involved day to day. The R&D lab, the ISO 22000 system, and a fair number of the customer relationships across Europe, the Americas and Asia-Pacific go back to him personally.

"Worldwide quality, fair business, consistent standards."Memduh Yıldırım

He's repeated that line to staff for decades. It's still how the company picks raw material, runs its lab, and talks to customers.

How He Runs the Company

Quality Before Volume

Every batch gets tested against internal spec before it ships. That habit goes back to INCOM's first years and hasn't loosened since.

Fair, Long-Term Partnerships

Some of INCOM's export relationships go back decades. Yıldırım has always preferred a slower, steadier deal over a quick one.

Still Hands-On

He's still involved in day-to-day production decisions and the company's biggest accounts, not just the big-picture strategy.

The INCOM Legacy

Since 1980, INCOM has turned carefully selected carob seeds into consistent, natural ingredients for food manufacturers across Europe, the Americas and Asia-Pacific.

1980 — Foundation in Mersin

Memduh Yıldırım founds INCOM in Mersin, becoming Turkey's first company dedicated entirely to Locust Bean Gum production, at a time when carob processing in the country was a small, fragmented trade.

1985 — First export contracts

INCOM signs its first regular export contracts with European food manufacturers, laying the groundwork for the export markets that would follow.

1980s–1990s — Building the export base

Export relationships expand across Europe as INCOM's LBG grades earn a reputation for consistent viscosity.

2000s — R&D investment

A dedicated R&D laboratory is established to support batch-level quality control and give customers direct technical guidance rather than generic spec sheets.

2005 — ISO 22000 certification

INCOM achieves ISO 22000 food safety management certification.

2010s — Global reach

Export markets expand into the Americas and Far East, including Japan, China and India, helped by Mersin Port's proximity.

2020s — Grade specialization

INCOM formalizes its A-01 and A-02 grade system, giving customers precise viscosity classes for specific applications, from ice cream to industrial-scale processing.

Today — 50+ countries

INCOM supplies natural carob-based ingredients to food manufacturers in over 50 countries, with A-01 and A-02 grade LBG and Carob Molasses as its core products.
